Commissioning an original piece of art can feel intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be!
I’m here to make it easy! Check out the steps below to see if commissioning a piece from me is right for you. If it’s a good fit, send in a request and let’s get to work.
-
Time to put our heads together and consider what you’re looking for.
Guiding Questions:
Do your needs fit with my style of work?
Which pieces in my portfolio are you drawn to? Why?
What size do you need?
Do you have specific colors in mind? Or maybe a place or memory that you want to inspire the work?
Pricing for various size options for your project will be available for you to consider.
-
If, after our initial meeting, you decide to move forward with the commission, I will send you a commission agreement outlining the agreed upon plan, timeline, cost etc. I will also include sample colors and any other relevant information for your approval.
50% of the cost of the commission is due up front to cover materials and planning costs.
-
Once the the commission agreement is signed, it’s time for me to get to work. Timelines will be agreed upon ahead of time.
I will check in at various points with updates, or can keep it as a surprise until reveal day - it’s totally up to you!
-
At the end of the agreed on time frame, your commission will be complete, varnished, wired and ready to hang in your space. All pieces come with basic hanging hardware for simple install (all you need is a hammer!)
The remaining balance of the cost of the commission is due upon delivery. Payment plans can be worked out on a case by case basis and written into the commission agreement.
Want to incorporate something extra special into your commission? We can do that!
This collector made a custom bookshelf for their daughter stained in this beautiful aqua color. When they commissioned this piece for her birthday it just made sense to include a little bit of that same color into the piece. Now, she’ll always have a little piece of her childhood bedroom with her.
